UPDATE: As of 9/4/14, you can also use SavingStar at Sam’s Club, BJ’s (register your BJ Rewards Card), Costco, and K-mart!

Have you created a SavingStar account? If not, you will definitely want to go ahead and do that now.

SavingStar works with your loyalty card at CVS, Kroger, Jewel-Osco, and more. BUT, they have just announced that you can now redeem offers at Walmart, Target, Walgreens, Dollar General, Family Dollar, Meijer, and Winco Foods!

Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Set up your SavingStar account
  2. Go to your App Store on your smartphone and download the SavingStar App
  3. Select offers on web or mobile (including the Healthy offer of the Week and the Freebie Offer)
  4. Use card at checkout or scan receipt with app.
  5. Get cash in your SavingStar account. (Note: This could take from 2 – 22 days depending on redemption method and store. **Be sure to keep your receipt in case you have a discrepancy.)
  6. Cash out once your account reaches $5

I’m pretty excited about this as it appears you will be able to use these offers in conjunction with Ibotta, Checkout 51 and Shopmium to increase your savings even more.

Do you know or anyone know, if you can use the checkout51 or savingstar program ALONG WITH a manufacturer’s coupon? Do the program’s accept this when they see the coupon on the receipt? Or do they deny it?

    • It depends. 🙂 For Checkout 51, you CAN use a manufacturer coupon with most offers. However, we recently had an offer that did not allow you to use a coupon so you’ll need to watch each offer individually. SavingStar offers that are $5/$15 (or similar) do allow coupons to be used. Single product offers are not supposed to be used in conjunction with coupons, however, SavingStar is aware that offers being redeemed with coupons (specifically at stores where you do not have to submit a receipt). I imagine this will be changing soon so that you can’t use coupons.
