Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament
Looking for a unique, entertaining, and family-friendly event?? Our family recently was invited to Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament, and we had a blast!
Medieval Times is an exciting, family-friendly dinner attraction inspired by an 11th century feast and tournament. Guests are served a four-course banquet and cheer for one of six Knights competing in the joust and other tests of skill.
Castle doors open 75 minutes before the show begins, and you will definitely want to get there early. Parking is free so no need to worry about that, but seats are assigned on a first come, first served basis! Once you make your way into the castle, get your tickets and crown, you will take a professional photo of your group. This picture is available for purchase before you leave. Your crown colors will coordinate with your seating area and the knight that you will be cheering on.
After you take your picture, you will enter the Hall of Arms where there is a gift shop, full-service bar, museum of torture (additional charge). Shortly before the doors open, there will be a short knighting ceremony. Once the doors open, you will enter based on the color of your crown/horse.
A four-course dinner is served promptly upon locating your seats. Keep in mind that there are NO utensils. We were served tomato soup with garlic bread as a starter, half bone-in chicken with corn on the cob and half of a baked potato for the main meal and ice cream with caramel sauce for dessert. The food was delicious and the portions were a nice size. They will give you a bag to take any leftovers home, too!
The jousting show lasted approximately two hours with six competing knights on horses. My boys loved cheering for our knight even though he didn’t win.
Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament has nine locations – Kissimmee, FL, Buena Park, CA, Schaumburg, IL., Hanover, MD., Lyndhurst, NJ, Myrtle Beach, SC, Dallas, TX, Lawrenceville, GA., and Toronto, ON.
