Stitch Fix Review: Fix #1 (January 2016)
I was so excited to finally try Stitch Fix for the first time this week! I had a few friends that used their service in the past, but I just never signed up and then you may remember I was a surrogate for most of 2015. Now that the new year is here, I wanted to check it out and I’ll do a Stitch Fix review on each of my fixes for you.
Haven’t heard of Stitch Fix? “Stitch Fix is the personal styling service tailored to your taste, budget and lifestyle that helps you look and feel your best every day.”
To get started, you complete a Style Profile and answer a lot of questions about what you like and don’t like in your wardrobe. You receive five items in each “fix” including clothes, bags, jewelry and even shoes! You can even make requests for specific items. In my first fix, I asked for a pair of jeans and tops for the colder weather.
In addition to completing your Style Profile, you will want to link the fashion board in your Pinterest account. I’ve made a lot of notes and even deleted some things I had pinned that I might not actually wear. Your stylist really does look at it!
My fix arrived yesterday, and I was pretty excited when I opened the box!
The first item I tried on were the Dear John Marson Wide Leg Jean. I loved the dark color. They were SO comfortable and fit perfectly…except for the length. And, let’s be honest, I won’t take them in to get tailored. Unfortunately, they are going back. (They are in all the pictures below.)
This is the Liverpool Kolten Denim Jacket. It was SO comfortable – stretchy, perfect length in the body and arms, and soft. I wasn’t super excited about the color and it was priced more than I was willing to pay so I will be returning it.
I have a dolman sweater in my closet now and find that I don’t wear it very often. When I first pulled the Staccato Lotus Dolman Sweater out of the box, it was the only piece I wasn’t excited about. It looked big and I just wasn’t sure. Trying it on confirmed that this one was definitely going back. On the positive, the color and neckline were right on.
I was really excited to get the Loveappella Evie Draw String Funnel Neck Sweatshirt. My stylist sent this after checking out my Pinterest account, and I’ve seen a lot of positive reviews. It’s lightweight and super comfy. The color is good, too. I’m undecided on this one. What do you think? Should I keep it or send it back?
The last item I received was the THML Noelli Button Back Detail Pullover Sweater in Navy and White. As you can see from the amount of pictures, this is the other item I’m undecided on. I love the length and that I can wearing it with anything. I like the buttons on the back and the fact that I don’t have anything like this in my closet now.
There is a $20 styling fee for each fix. That fee is applied to your purchase. Once your fix arrives, you have three days to decide what you want to keep or send back. If you decide to keep all five items, you save 25% on your purchase!

January 6, 2016 at 9:48 pmThanks, Jamie! I ended up sending it back…didn’t love the color. I’m hoping they will send another one though. I kept the navy stripe sweater. 🙂 I ordered another fix for February so we’ll see what they send me. Your trip looks awesome!
