Buttons – Pretzel, Hershey’s Kiss, and M&M (Kid Friendly)

Buttons – Pretzel, Hershey’s Kiss, and M&M (Kid Friendly)

I have an easy, kid friendly recipe for you today. And, you can customize this to be holiday friendly, too – use red/green/white for Christmas, red/pink for Valentine’s Day, green/white for St. Patrick’s Day, and so on. I first saw these when a friend did them years ago, and I’ve been making them with my boys ever since.  They are called Buttons and only contain three ingredients – pretzels, Hershey’s Kisses, and M&M’s.

Instructions:

Pre-heat your oven to 200 degrees.

Place pretzels on a cookie sheet next to each other and not overlapping. My boys actually do most of the “work” on these. My four-year old laid out all the pretzels on a cookie sheet. (You can also line with parchment paper, but you don’t have to.)

Unwrap all Hershey’s kisses. My two-year old and my 4-year old did this! Place the kisses on top of the pretzels.buttons in progress

Bake pretzels and Hershey’s Kisses for 5 minutes in oven.

Remove from oven and press one M&M into the center of each.

Place in refrigerator and allow to cool.

Know that round or square pretzels will work, too. I just used what I had at home at the time. You can also substitute with Rolos, hugs or flavored Kisses.
