Circuit Cubes – STEM Toys for Ages 8 – 12
Do you have kids or a boy or girl scout troop with kids age 8 and over? Are they interested in STEM activities? Try Circuit Cubes! Circuit Cubes Sets teach the basic fundamentals of electronics, help inspire creative play, and work with your existing LEGO products which is perfect for my LEGO-loving boys! And, let’s be honest, as a mom I get excited about them trying anything that doesn’t involve a TV, iPad, or computer. Projects and activities like this are especially great for days when they need a little downtime from the summer sun or it’s rainy and kids are indoors.
Here are just a few details about Circuit Cubes:
- FITS YOUR BRICKS: Works with LEGO®, MegaBloks® and other building bricks! Just click together our modular Battery, Motor, and LED cubes to energize your creations.
- CREATIVE, EDUCATIONAL STEM/STEAM LEARNING TOY: Promotes hands-on exploration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math through play.
- UNIQUE, SEMI-TRANSPARENT DESIGN: Shows how circuits work; kids see the technology behind the fun.
- AWARD-WINNER: Toy of the Year (TOTY) 2018 Finalist, KAPi Award Winner, Toy Fair Best in Show & more.
This summer has already started off quite warm (as in 90° days plus over 100% humidity here in Central Illinois) so not only were my boys super excited to see a package in the mail for them, but I was, too! We received all three sets – Whacky Wheels, Bright Lights, and Smart Art – to try out. My boys decided to start with the Whacky Wheels set and had a blast. The box came with a book of step-by-step instructions (just like they are used to with their LEGO sets), three cubes – a battery, a motor, and an LED, as well as everything else you need to make a car or whatever you can dream up. This particular set also came with cardboard cutouts to create different vehicles, but you can also build your own vehicle using LEGOs you have around the house. In this quick video, my boys used one of the cardboard cutouts to create the body of their car. This was the first one they put together.
And, of course, you can get your own sets on Amazon starting around $31.99 plus FREE shipping currently!
