Day Out with Thomas Review – Fun for the Whole Family!
If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you may have seen a few pictures from a very fun event last Saturday – Day Out with Thomas! When I was given the opportunity to take my boys, I knew it was something they would love and was so excited. We hadn’t been before but with two boys, you can believe they are fans of the big blue engine. We attended the event in Union, Illinois which also runs this coming Saturday and Sunday, August 23 and 24. Not in the area? Check our more dates and locations here. 
Let me tell you – you could spend all day at this event! We were there from 1pm to 5pm and my boys could have gone longer. There was so much fun for the kiddos including:
- Thomas tattoos
- Kids Sandpile
- Bounce Houses and Playground
- Thomas Storytelling and Video Viewing
- Pictures and show with Sir Topham Hatt
- Magic Show, Clowns, and other entertainment
- Streetcar and train rides
- Vintage train viewings
We saw just about everything and then got in line for our 3pm train ride. The ride is about 20 minutes long – the perfect amount of time for my 4 and 2-year old boys.
Day Out with Thomas is a perfect event for the Thomas the Train fan. The one thing that stood out to me was that normally at events this big, there is a huge age range of kids and there is pushing and shoving or cutting in lines – just some frustrations throughout the day. Day Out with Thomas is not like that at all!! Because it really is targeted to a specific audience and the kids are generally a little younger, it was such a calm, fun day for the whole family!
