Harlem Globetrotters Review
Going to see the Harlem Globetrotters play is becoming a fun tradition for us and our daughter’s best friend. We were able to go see them play again this year, and it was more fun than the year before. I didn’t even think that was possible!
The game begins with the Washington Generals coming out to boo’s. Then, the Globetrotters hit the stage. They stood in a circle and each one took time doing tricks with the balls. These players are SO talented. Not only can they play basketball but the tricks they do are insane.
Hammer Harrison was the star of the show this year. I love the comedy bits interspersed with the game. One man came in late, and Harrison stopped the game.
“Hey, you!” Harrison shouted at him as he ran up the stairs into the crowd. “You know what time the game starts? Alexa, what time does the game start today?”
Alexa replied, “The game started at 3 p.m. sharp. You are very late.”
I also love how they include kids in their shows, and they always make sure the kids win. They had a little boy shoot at the basket. After a couple of tries, they picked him up so he could dunk it, and then they gave him a jersey.
The dunking competition between the two teams is always a lot of fun, too. These players are SO talented. And, even though I know the Globetrotters always win, I still get nervous when the Generals take the lead! The Globetrotters always come back, though.
Globetrotters games are just fun. They’re easy, breezy, and they’re geared toward making sure the audience has fun. Next time, I want to try to get tickets to get autographs!
Have you ever been to a Globetrotters game? What was your favorite part? Let us know in the comments!
