Here is a HOT tip for you today. In many states if you have a coupon for say “Buy 1 bottle of Jack Daniels – Get a 2 liter of Coke for FREE”, you do not have to purchase the alcohol in-order to get that 2 liter of Coke for FREE! Yup, you heard me right! Many states laws make it illegal to require the purchase of alcohol in-order to use that coupon.
Missouri is a prime example. When I lived in Kansas City I would always stroll through the alcohol section when at the store in search of HOT coupons. I can’t tell you how many times I got my mom free soda this way. I do not know all states that are included in this exemption but if you read the coupon carefully it should say if your state requires the purchase of the alcohol or not.
Who is going to be browsing the alcohol section more often now?

July 26, 2011 at 4:02 pmThanks for the reminder! I live in Missouri and recently took advantage of getting $10 worth of meat free by doing this. This was a tear pad offer but I will have to be on the lookout for offers near or on the bottles. Thanks!
