Target Shopping 101
*Updated 7/9/2020
Target is one of my favorite places to shop, and the deals lately have been amazing! This post is here to help you learn to the best, money saving person when shopping at Target!
The first thing that comes to mind is using coupons (duh!). Be sure to read up on their coupon policy here. There are more details there, but know that Target allows you to use one manufacturer coupon, one Target store coupon, AND one Target Circle promotion on an item. I always like to keep a copy of this with me when shopping or have easy access to it on my phone in case I run into an issue when checking out. And, I suggest you do, too!
You will want to create an account at Target.com or in the app and load offers to Target Circle. As I mentioned above, these offers can be used in addition to your manufacturer and Target store coupons. Talk about stacking the savings. You will need to double check the limit on each item, but most offers are available on a maximum of four items. So, if you buy five Heinz Ketchup, and use a Cartwheel offer for 5% off Heinz ketchup, the discount will only be applied to four of the five items.
In addition to these savings options, there are two other ways to save at Target.
1. Target has a price matching policy. I have used this numerous times when shopping for last minute birthday presents. Simply pull up the price on your phone and show it to the cashier for the adjustment.
2. Sign up for the Target REDCard. There is a debit or credit card version available, and what I LOVE is that the debit card links directly to my account I already have set up. So, nothing new to worry about. PLUS, cardholders save an additional 5% off each purchase and qualify for FREE shipping when shopping online.
I hope this gets you just a little excited about shopping at Target because I LOVE it!

May 20, 2014 at 7:41 pmI have actually used the price match policy. Crazy thing is they even match Amazon.com, so all I had to do was show them the price on my phone. They matched it, and with rebate I got the movie Epic for my kids for free. Great stocking stuffer at Christmas time!

October 29, 2014 at 6:21 pmJust a note I add match at Target all the time but now they restricted their ad match. If an item says 2/$5, 6/$10 etc they won’t ad match because they state it doesn’t have a price list. I have argued that it is a price but they refuse. I called and talked with target headquarters and they suppose that 2/$5 is not an exact price. Very frustrating.
