Puppy Chow Snack Mix

puppy chow snack mixPuppy Chow Snack Mix

Are you looking for a super easy sweet treat for a potluck or to eat at home? I have no idea where this name came from or where the original recipe was developed, but Puppy Chow Snack Mix is perfect! It’s quick, too – took us about 10 minutes to make. Who doesn’t love peanut butter, chocolate, and a little crunch?

Ingredients:

  • 9 cups Chex Cereal
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 bag chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Directions:

  1. Microwave peanut butter, chocolate chips and margarine until mixture can be stirred smooth in a large bowl.
  2. Add in vanilla and stir.
  3. Add in cereal and stir until cereal is mostly covered with the chocolate mixture.
  4. Put half of the powdered sugar in a gallon size ziploc bag. Slowly add all of the cereal mixture and shake to cover with powdered sugar, adding the rest of the powdered sugar as needed.
  5. Enjoy and store remaining snack mix in an air tight container or bag.

My oldest son helped me make this for the first time last night, and they both LOVED it!
