We are on week #5 of My Weekly Shopping! Remember, my goal is to spend no more than $50 per week on groceries, cleaning supplies, baby products, and dog food/treats.
I only went to one store this week and had to get the ingredients for my monthly freezer meal exchange which is Monday (nothing like waiting to the last minute). You can read more about our freezer meal group and how to start your own in my post here.
So, here’s how I did:
KROGER
Bought:
4 Large Onions $1.29/lb
20 cans Kroger Brand Tomato Sauce $0.39
10 cans Kroger Brand Diced Tomatoes $0.60
20 cans Kroger Brand Pinto Beans $0.60
10 McCormick Chili Seasoning Packets $0.90
1 Chili Powder $2.39
2 Jif Peanut Butter $2.69
2 Kellogg’s Apple Jacks $3.00
3 Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes $3.00
3 Kellogg’s Fruit Loops $3.00
1 Kellogg’s Corn Pops $3.00
2 Kellogg’s Pop Tarts $1.99
2 Gallons Kroger Brand Milk $2.79
5 Kroger Brand Bread $0.69 **This was on Manager’s Special! We go through quite a bit of bread with PB&J sandwiches so I just threw the extra loaves in the freezer.
Used:
$0.50/1 Jif eCoupon for Super Sale (came off twice)
$3/3 Kellogg’s Cereal eCoupon for Super Sale (came off three times)
$0.35/1 Kellogg’s Pop Tarts eCoupon for Super Sale (came off twice)
$25/$50 coupon previously available
$0.50/1 gallon milk ibotta offer
Paid $48.64, Saved $51.64 and got $0.50 cash back with ibotta
My reaction: I think it was a great week – I got everything we needed and was under budget! My only disappointment was that I went shopping on Wednesday and new Checkout 51 offers came out on Thursday. I could have saved an additional $2.50 on my cereal and milk if I had waited one day.
How did you do this week? We’d love for you to share your shopping experiences with us, too!
