Tator Tot Casserole
Here’s a classic, easy dinner you can put on the table any time – Tator Tot Casserole! This is pure comfort food for me, and I love that there are only three ingredients – tator tots, cream of mushroom soup and ground beef. I sometimes add a little black pepper to give it a little more flavor. I also know that some people add corn to their recipe.
Ingredients:
1 bag frozen Tator Tots
1lb ground beef
1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup
Directions:
- Spray bottom and sides of a 8 x 12 glass baking dish.
- Layer raw ground beef on bottom of baking dish, followed by cream of mushroom soup, and tator tots covering the top.
- Bake 30 minutes at 400 degrees (or cooking temp and time on bag of tator tots).
- Remove from oven and enjoy.
This is also a great one to make ahead of time and freeze. Just throw it in the freezer after you layer everything in the pan. Just keep in mind that you will want to use fresh ground beef and not frozen or you will need to cook the ground beef before freezing again.
See how easy that is? Do you make a Tator Tot Casserole. If so, share your recipe with us! I’d love ideas to change mine up a bit and give the boys some variety.

November 1, 2016 at 7:08 pmI followed this recipe exactly. Using fresh, not frozen ground beef. It was completely raw after 45 minutes at 400 degrees. Brown the meat first.

December 9, 2016 at 3:43 pmI brown the meat first with some chopped onion and a sprinkle of s&p, drain then mix with the cream of mushroom. I put it in the pan then layer the tator tots on top. I bake til tots are done, then add cheese to the top and let it melt. Yummmm!!!
